How to Carry Bike with Fenders on 2010 Honda CR-V
Question:
I have a 2010 Honda CRV EX-L that has a hitch. Will this Thule Helium 2 Bike Platform Rack bike rack work with a hybrid bike that has plastic fenders?

The Thule Helium 2 Bike Platform Rack # TH44VR fits the hitch for your 2010 Honda CR-V but we do not recommend wheel mounted bike racks for bikes with fenders. If your fenders are easily removable this bike rack will work but that can be a bit of a hassle. I do have a few alternatives that will work for you.
The Swagman Chinook # S64683 is a 2 bike platform style frame mount bike rack. The hook secures around the top tube of your bike and the wheels are held in their cradles with a ratcheting straps. It can tilt away with bikes loaded so you can gain access to your hatch and it also folds up against your CR-V when not in use to save space. It also comes with locks for your bikes and also to secure the bike rack to your hitch. This is one of my favorite bike racks. It is a really good value. It is a solid feeling rack, has lots of features and has a more friendly price compared to other bike racks with similar features.
One thing to keep in mind with frame mount bike racks is that a bike adapter bar like # 64005 is sometimes required for alternative frame, women's and kids bikes. A top tube that angled can create fit issues.
The Thule DoubleTrack Pro XT Bike Platform Rack # TH92BJ also fit your Honda CR-V hitch and is a frame mount design. The difference with this rack is the unique way it secures to your frame. It can accommodate different frame designs much easier eliminating the need for an adapter bar. This bike rack also comes with locks to secure your bikes and the bike rack. It can tilt against the vehicle when not carrying bikes and can also tilt away.
Overall I like the Swagman Chinook better but if you need a bike adapter bar and you don't like the idea of using one the Thule DoubleTrack is still a good bike rack.
