Recommended Trailer Hitch Ball Mount Rise for U-Haul Trailer Coupler for 2015 Mazda CX-5
Question:
when you calculate the rise or drop required, do you also consider the height of the ball in choosing the ball mount. I have a Draw-tite class III model 76138 on a 2015 Mazda CX5. Measures 13 inches from ground to top of tube. Uhaul Trailer couplings measure 18 inches high. Which trailer hitch ball mount and ball do I use? Thanks

On your 2015 Mazda CX-5, the measurement you need is from the ground to the inside top of the receiver. If you look at the attached video we that measurement listed at 15-1/2 inches so it is different from the 13 inch you referenced.
For your 13 inch measurement you will then need a 5 inch rise. I recommend the B&W Heavy-Duty Ball Mount - 5" Rise, 6" Drop - 10-3/4" Long - 16,000 lbs # BWBMHD30014 or the Curt # C45336 and then you will need the # A-90 hitch ball. The pin and clip # C21500 is also needed.
