Yakima Timberline Tower Install on 2015 Jeep Cherokee with Raised Rails

Question:

I just installed my Yakima timberline towers and I was wondering if I did it wrong. I saw videos where it said to install the towers in the center of the rail. And others said to install it more in the right side so it hugs the raised rails more. I’m just wondering which is the proper method. I have a 2015 Jeep Cherokee trailhawk with 60’ Yakima crossbars. And a 48’ fairing in the front. Also I was wondering if the fairing is suppose to be touching my roof because mine isn’t since it’s pretty much on top of my raised rails.

You want your raised rails to sit in the middle of your TimberLine Towers # Y33TR as you can see in the attached clip from the instructions. Since this is the location that Yakima says to install it then that's what you'll want to follow.

You'll want your fairing to have a small space between it and your roof. The 48" Fairing # INA262 is actually too large for your 2015 Jeep Cherokee with the raised rails so you're going to need the 31" Fairing # INA260 instead. You would use the 48" fairing if you had the naked roof.
