Does Prodigy P2 Brake Controller Require Using Self Adjusting Trailer Brakes
Question:
Does the 2017 Jayco Hummingbird have self adjusting drum brakes? The single Lippert axle is rated at 3,500lbs. Part# 0275156 Ser# 045-004496757 The instructions for adjusting the boost level on the Tekonsha P2 brake control mention properly adjusting the trailer brakes first. Please clarify and let me know if you need more data.

I don't have a way to determine if your brakes are self adjusting. I'd go ahead and try to set the P2 up under assumption they are adjusted properly. If you find you can't lock up the trailer brakes with the manual override lever of the controller that would be an indicator the brakes aren't adjusted/adjusting.
To determine if they are self adjusting you'd have to pull a hub off and look to see if there is a steel cable that runs diagonally across the assembly.
