Best SUP Carrier For Easy and Quick Loading
Question:
I see some installations with a line attaching the paddleboard nose to the front bumper or to under-hood strap. Is it recommneded by you, Thule or Yakima? How important is that? front only - what about rear? thank you.

It really depends on the carrier you go for. For the Thule Taxi XT # TH810001 I recommend putting a tie down in the front. Just because there is only one narrow strap securing your paddle board to the carrier and when you're driving at high speeds the paddle board will catch quite a bit of air which will raise the front of the board.
I suggest the same thing for a Yakima Rack like the SUPDawg # Y04075. Same idea here, highway speeds will raise up the front end so again I recommend using a strap in the front.
If you do not want to use a strap at all then you need # 339LR50LASET. The two arms are angled so they keep downward force on your boards which will keep them from raising up on the highway. This is the simplest way to get your boards to where you want to go in my opinion. This one is a channel mount so if you don't have bars with T-Track you need # 339LRADPTR.
I have included my install and review video for you so check it out!
