5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Recommendations for a 2012 Ford F-250 King Ranch w/Trailer Prep Package
Question:
I have a 2012 f250 KR with 6.5foot box. It came with the fifth wheel/gooseneck prep package. We plan to purchased a Sierra 366fl with up to 15k lbs loaded weight. Do I need slider hitch? If so what kind? What about an auto slider?

Expert Reply:
Since your 2012 Ford F-250 has the 5th wheel/gooseneck prep package, you have some hitch options. To use the prep package, you will need to use B&W Companion 5th Wheel Hitch, # BWRVK3370. It has 12 inches of travel. I have included a link to the installation details for you.
Another option is to use an adapter, # RP30156, and then use 16K hitch, # RP30075. This hitch offers 12 inches of travel. Both hitches listed above are manual sliders.
For an automatic slider # DM8550024 will fit into the prep package on your F-250. You may require an adapter plate of your particular 5th wheel pin box.
