Replacement Break Away Switch with Pin for a Bargman Trailer Break Away Kit
Question:
I ordered this part and the pin doesnt fit in the switch box. The original pin was brass, not plastic, and it was narrower. Do you have another cable and pin I can use instead of this?

Expert Reply:
Break away kits have a switch that require a plastic pin. The pin separates two contacts inside the switch. When the pin is pulled the contacts can touch and complete a circuit which sends power to the trailer brakes. If that pin was metal the brakes would be on all the time.
You could just replace the switch since it is just 2 wires. That way you would have a whole new switch with the compatible pin already in it. The switches are universal for the breakaway kits, so you could use # 3802348 I have included a link to the replacement switches for you to view.
