The wire harness length of the Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera # HM50002 is 19 ft 7 in. Based on my research, if your truck is a newer model GM, the overall length of your truck is around 22 feet.

The standard harness may be just long enough for installation in your truck cab, but picking up the 5 Foot Extension Cable # HM3100504060 will give you more wiggle room for routing the harness. We have used this 5 foot extension on installs when the truck is a 4-door, 8 ft bed. I have linked one such installation video for you on a 2008 Ford F-250.

The other extension cable for this camera comes in at an extra 25 feet. This is much longer than you need for your truck and is best used for installation on longer vehicles such as motorhomes.
