Can Lippert LC380605 Sway Command Be Used With Friction Sway Control on Small Pop-Up Camper  

Question:

I considering buying the Lippert sway command, I have a 2001 coleman utah popup camper would the sway command be beneficial for a smaller trailer. I have a friction sway control and plan to use both systems.

If your existing sway control isn't working to your satisfaction, you could certainly add the Lippert # LC380605 sway command. Lippert tells me that you could indeed use the Sway Command in conjunction with a friction sway unit. The system works by using a gyroscope to sense trailer sway and then modulating the trailer brakes to stop the sway. As long as your braking system is electric, the Sway Command would be an excellent choice. One small caveat- This system isn't compatible with the factory brake controllers on 2014 or newer GM trucks or SUV's.
