How to Determine if Thule Motion XT Will Mount on 2018 Honda Odyssey With OEM Crossbars
Question:
I have a 2018 Honda Odyssey. We are interested in the Thule Motion XT XL 18 cubic feet. We have the factory Honda OEM roof rails and cross bars. Will the Motion XT fit these OEM cross bars? Based on my reading and research, I believe the Motion XT will fit the cross bars. However the Thule website not surprisingly recommended buying their aero blade cross bar system. I wanted to confirm before ordering. Thank you.

It is very likely the Thule Motion XT Rooftop Cargo Box # TH629806 will fit on the OEM roof rack crossbars of your 2018 Honda Odyssey, but like you said Thule has not confirmed it. I checked with other rack manufacturers to see if they had any confirmed fits of rooftop boxes on factory crossbars for an '18 Odyssey but they did not.
Thankfully, it is very easy to find out definitively if they will fit. All you need to do is measure the crossbars, and if they are no more than 3-1/2" wide and 1-11/16" tall, the Motion XT will fit. I would be shocked if they were any larger than that, but to verify you will want to take that measurement.
