I have a solution for you, but the Curt # 13368 is not the hitch you're looking for since it's designed to fit on the Ford F-150. Instead you're looking for the Curt # C13186 which is a confirmed fit on the 2018 Ford Escape SE and will provide you with a 2" receiver. The Curt hitches have a much more durable powder coating than the other hitches on the market, so it's built to withstand the rigors of the road much better and will help keep rust and corrosion away.
If you're going to be towing with this hitch, you'll also need wiring, a ball mount and hitch ball. For wiring I recommend using the Curt T-Connector Wiring Harness # C56320 which will tee into your tail lights and provide you with a 4 way connector to power your trailer lights. For a ball mount and hitch ball I recommend using the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900 since it comes with multiple ball mounts and hitch balls to help you cover a variety of different trailers you may need to tow, and comes with a hitch pin, clip and carrying case for storage.
I've linked some review and installation videos of these parts for you to have a look at, as well, which will help out if you're planning on installing everything yourself.
