Recommended Brake Controller for 2012 Dodge Durango
Question:
I just purchased a 2018 Coachman Freedom Express with self adjusting Dexter electric Brakes. I will be towing this with a 2012 Dodge Durango Citadel Hemi. The Durango can handle the towing weight easily. However, unlike a truck, I do not have a controller inside the truck to adjust the brakes on whatever Im towing. Do I need some kind of additional controller installed to operate these brakes and tow safely?

I have two great brake controller options for a 2012 Dodge Durango, a traditional brake controller like the Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller part # TK90160 with Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers part # TK93VR or a wireless brake controller like the Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller part # C51180.
The Curt Echo uses your phone so no drilling into the dash to mount the brake controller will be needed. Therefore, this is what I recommend. However, if you prefer to have an actual controller you can grab onto then the Tekonsha Primus IQ will work just fine.
