Question:

We need a brake kit for a trailer that currently does not have brakes on it. Lug are 5x5. We will need wiring, brakes, break away sensor, etc. This will be for 1 axle 3500 lbs. Can you recommend me a kit. Thank you

You will need to first start with hub drums that match your axle capacity and bolt pattern like the etrailer # AKHD-550-35-EZ-K. Then for brake assemblies you'd want the part # AKEBRK-35R-SA and # AKEBRK-35L-SA for self adjusting brake assemblies. Then for a breakaway kit you'd want part # 20400.

Now for a kit that includes a junction box and 7-way the part # HS381-9000 is the best and easiest solution. This will make integrating the new wiring for the brakes with the older wiring the easiest as possible.
