I was able to reach out to my contact at Lippert and they weren't able to provide a set wind speed rating that the Solera Family Room for 14' RV Awnings # LC362229 will withstand. They did mentioned that it should not have any problems in normal wind conditions less than 20-25 MPH if that is any consolation. The tan body panels are made from a heavy duty nylon cloth and the screen sections will allow a good deal of wind to pass through it when open, but I can see how during sustained windy conditions it might start acting more like a sail and cause some damage to the awning- so your concerns are extremely valid. What you'll need to watch for is when the pitch arm on the awning begins to start wobbling quite a bit, the room will need to be taken down and stored. You'll install some brackets on the RV and the pitch arms but after that the install and removal of the screen after that is pretty simple as it comes with quick release straps.
