Flat tow! Which according to the owner's manual I found online can be done so long as you have a 2.7L EcoBoost or 3.5L engine in your 2018 Ford Edge. The parts you need are the following:

- Base Plate Kit: Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-524444-5
- Tow Bar: Roadmaster Nighthawk All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar # RM-676
- Safety Chains: Roadmaster 68" Single Hook, Coiled Safety Cables # RM-643
- Wiring Kit: Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267
- Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect with Switch # RM-766
- Supplemental Braking System: Demco SBS Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # SM99251

- For a motorhome with air brakes: Demco SBS Air Force One Supplemental Braking System for Motorhomes with Air Brakes # SM99243

The Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plates are great because they have removable tabs which means your Edge is going to keep its clean look when you aren't flat towing. The Nighthawk tow bar is a great option because it has long arms which make it easier to maneuver when towing, along with integrated safety cables so you won't have to purchase them separately, saving you an additional expense.

The Flexo-Coil wiring kit is designed to prevent any type of electrical feedback to keep your Edge's electrical system safe, and both the Stay-IN-Play DUO and Air Force One are strongly recommended because they are one-time installs which will never require any type of removal or reactivation, and give you braking proportional to that of your motorhome. This results in much smoother braking than most systems which send out a pre-set amount of braking power and thus are more rigid.
