Hitch Ball Mount for 2018 Subaru Forester OEM Hitch Receiver Compatibility
Question:
Looking for a 2inch ball and mount that fits the hitch my Subaru dealer just put on our 2018 Subaru Forester with eyesight. Strangely, Subaru doesnt seem to sell a mount or ball that fits their hitch. Does this one work? Thanks.

The Curt Towing Starter Kit for 2" Hitches - 2" Ball - 3/4" Rise, 2" Drop - 7.5K # C45534 will not work well with the OEM Subaru 2 Inch Hitch Receiver because that hitch is so far recessed. You will need an extended ball mount like the Ball Mount 3/4" Rise or 2" Drop, Extra Long # D-26 to give you bumper clearance. The hitch ball will be 12-5/8 inches from the hitch pin hole on center.
You will also need a hitch ball like 2-5/16" Hitch Ball # 63847 or 2" ball # 63845. Then you can use a standard pin and clip # PC3 or lock like # e98880.
