Recommended E-Bike Carrier for 2015 Jeep Wrangler JK/JKU
Question:
I am looking at two different platform bike racks for hauling ebikes. Each bike weighs 50 lbs. I have a 2015 Jeep Wrangler, and the measurement from hitch pin center to outside edge of the spare tire is nine inches. Would either of these racks fit. I realize I wouldn’t be able to fold them. The racks are the swag man e-spec 2, and the swagman current 2. I like the heavy duty of the e-spec 2 over the current 2, but I would take either one.

You're going to want to go with the Swagman E-Spec 2 # S94FR since it has 10" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest part of the rack. This rack is perfect for e-bikes with its 70-lbs per bike capacity and will work well on the back of your 2015 Jeep Wrangler. This rack comes with bike locks and a locking hitch pin so it's got everything you need to get right on the road out of the box.
The Swagman Current 2 # S64678 would also work since it has 12-3/4" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest part of the rack,. However, since it's designed to work on both 1-1/4" and 2" hitch receivers it's going to have a smaller diameter center shank. I don't particularly like this for e-bike carriers since it will allow the rack to move around a bit more on the back of the vehicle, and it's just not the most stable platform compared to the E-Spec 2.
