Class III Trailer Hitch Receiver for Carrying Bike Rack on 2007 Toyota Rav4

Question:

I would like to install the Curt hitch, C13406 on my Toyota RAV4 Limited. I plan to use it for a bike rack or a rear carrier. I prefer the compact installation over the Curt C13406. I see in the information section there are two comments from customers installing this hitch on a 2007 and 2010 with photos included. I am aware trimming of the bumper cover will be required which I am comfortable doing. Please confirm it will fit with the understanding trimming of the bumper cover will be required.

We do have hitches that are a fit for a 2007 Toyota Rav4, but the # C13406 you'd asked about is a fit for a later generation of the vehicle and wouldn't be compatible with your 2007 model.

For your 2007 model, I'd actually recommend the Curt Class III, part # C13149. The hitch is reasonably priced, and in my experience, I've seen that the quality of the powder coat finish used by Curt is a tiny bit better than Draw-Tite. The hitch is assembled in the USA, which is also a good thing.

I've linked to an installation video showing the hitch I recommended being installed on a 2007 RAV4. Some models that have an under-body panel (see linked instructions) would require that panel to be trimmed or removed, but you won't need to trim the bumper fascia.
