What Ladder Rack To Carry Large Kayak on 2013 Toyota Tacoma
Question:
I have a very long kayak and Id like to carry it on the roof of my 2013 Tacoma double cab, but would like one rail mounted in the bed also to support it. What combination of roof and bed rack can I use? Can I get one crossbar for the roof and one for the bed or do I have to buys sets for both? Also, the bed rack would need to be height adjustable to match or at least very close the height of the roof cross bar. Thanks for any advice!

The best solution for this is using the Thule T-Rac Pro2 Truck Bed Ladder Rack w/ Cantilever # TH37004XT-EX, which is more cost effective than trying to piece together a roof rack and ladder rack combination. This ladder rack will allow you to carry your long kayak without damaging the roof of your truck, and will still allow you to carry items in the bed of the truck, or on the available space on the crossbars if needed.
To protect the bottom of your kayak from being damaged on the bars I recommend using the Malone Deluxe Kayak Carrier # MPG152, which are foam pads that will fit on the bars of the Thule T-Rac Pro2.
