Installing Post Style Guide-Ons When Trailer Step Sticks Out

Question:

I have a galvanized plate that sets behind the fender and goes to the end of the trailer that is fender width for stepping on trailer. How would you recommend attaching the guide ons?

The CE Smith Post-Style Guide-Ons for Boat Trailers - 60" Tall - Black - 1 Pair # CE27646 will either be set at that fender width or you'd need to notch out your galvanized plate to get your desired width. A third option is to heat the metal and bend it so it fits around the ledge and then come back vertical which would of course void the warranty but would solve your problem without changing the trailer structure.
