Is Optronics # BUL52CB Back-Up Lamp Submersible

Question:

I need to mount two lights on my boat trailer to light up the bunkers under water at night. I would imagine white light would be best. I need to know if this is submersible and what is the amp draw at 12 v dc? If this isnt the best choice what would you suggest? I also need a switch to mount on the winch stand This switch will not be submersed. I was planning to tap off of the running lights taking that to the winch stand switch and then feeding the bunker lights. This way any time the running lights are on I will have the option of turning on the bunker lights. Thanks

The # BUL52CB lamp you referenced might work for the purpose you describe, but a bracket like part # BK70BB and grommet, part # A70GB would be needed. You would also need the wiring pigtail, part # A45CB. The lamp draws a minimal .275 amps at 12.8 volts.

The lamp is submersible, but the contacts at the rear where the pigtail plugs in would be vulnerable to moisture. If you decide to go this route, I would recommend keeping the contacts well coated in dielectric grease, part # 11755 to exclude water from the connections.

The # PK34571 switch and # PK25370 protective boot would also work well for you.
