There are a couple of ways you could attach a 4-way or 5-way connector to your factory 7-way connector on your 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche. If you wanted to have the option to use both a 4-way and 5-way connector without having to keep track of multiple items, then you may want to check out the Hopkins 7 Pole to 4 Pole and 5 Pole Adapter, # 37385.
This adapter will insert into the 7-way socket on your vehicle and has connections for a 4-way and a 5-way trailer connector.
If you only wanted a 4-way or a 5-way adapter, then you could take a look at the Pollak 7 Pole to 4 Pole Adapter, # PK12716, or the Optronics 7 Pole to 5 Pole Adapter, # A57WB. I have attached links to each of these products for you to check out.
