Can A Curt Fixed 5th Wheel Hitch Be Used On a 2020 GMC Sierra 2500
Question:
Vehicle: 2020 GMC Sierra 2500 I recently bought a GMC Sierra 2500 AT4. I had a Curt sliding 5th wheel hitch in my 2016 Ram short bed but never needed to use the slide, even when putting my trailer into some very tight spots. Do I really need a sliding hitch in my GMC short bed?

It is possible to use a fixed fifth wheel hitch on a 2020 GMC Sierra 2500 but it all comes down to the trailer. If you were using the same trailer on another short bed truck without issue the odds are you will be fine with a fixed fifth wheel hitch. I recommend the Curt A16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch because of the dual jaw design which is very secure and works well to reduce chucking/jarring and the easy to remove head with only one pin. If you have the factory prep package then you need part # C74FR but if not you need part # C16429-204 and part # C16120.
There is also the option of reusing your old hitch head with either part # CU53FR or part # C16920.
