Question:

Hello, Can you provide me with the distance from center hitch pin to the closest point of the rack in the fold position? Thanks.

The Swagman XTC-2 Tilt part # S64671 has the same measurement for the pin hole to the closest point folded up or ready to use. That is right at 9.25". In my experience that will be more than enough to work on any vehicle while still clearing the rear bumper or hatch. The XTC-2 Tilt is a great rack with great reviews. It is built off of the extremely popular XTC-2 which is know for great cost effectiveness, durability and ease of use. They just added a tilting function to it to allow for access to the cargo area.

It is always a good idea to secure your bikes to prevent theft for this I recommend the Swagman Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock and Cable part # S64030. As you will see in the video this will lock both the rack and the bikes to the vehicle so they will still be there when you're done shopping or grabbing a bite to eat.

I have linked a video Collin did on the rack and lock to fill you in on more details. Check it out.

I have a 2008 Toyota RAV4 which has a rear cargo door that opens out to the side rather than opening up like the newer RAV4s. Do you know if this rack will be able to tilt out of the way enough to clear this type of door?

It's very unlikely that the Swagman XCT-2 TILT # S64671 will tilt back far enough to allow clearance for the rear door on your RAV4. This will really be the case with any of our tilting racks. I think your best option is a swing-away rack like the Yakima # Y02465, which will actually swing out to the side of the vehicle to let you open that rear door.
