Can Plug-In Adapter be Used to Install Brake Controller on 1999 GMC Sierra with Factory 4-Way

Hello i have a question , can i install this device on a 1999 Gmc 3500 truck,wonder if still need to install wires to back of the truck i dont have a 7way on it?just plug for trailer lights

You definitely can still use the plug-in adapter # 3025-P for a Tekonsha brake controller, like the Primus IQ # TK90160, on your 1999 GMC Sierra. Since you have the factory 4-Way you will need to install the Universal Wiring Kit # ETBC7, which plugs into the existing 4-Way and then you make some additional connections with existing wiring near your spare tire.
You also need to make some additional connections under the hood of your pickup. I am attaching a helpful article we made that goes into more details about all of this for you to reference!
