Where to Connect 4-Way Trailer Wiring Harness on 2020 Chevy Express 2500 Without Tow Package

Question:

Hello, My new Chevy Express 2500 has an installed option Trailering wire harness provisions. It does not have a Tow Package. Description for the Trailering wire harness provisions is trailer wiring with dual 4-pin/7-pin sealed connector. There is no instructions as to where this harness is on the vehicle. I found two free connectors at driver side near rear door. I also found a connector under the cab at rear door, driver side. I cant tell which would be the installed trailering harness. Do you know where I might find the connector and which harness to should purchase to connect to my trailer? Thank you

Thanks for the photo and let's start with the correct 4-way for your 2020 Chevy Express 2500, which is the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118392.

As you can see by the cut out of the linked installation instructions I added, you will connect the harness to the plug on the driver's side, which you have pointed out in your photo. I have added a link to an installation video I recommend checking out as well.

Then to add a 7-way you will need to hardwire in the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7, which is going to give you a 7-way connector, circuit breakers and the rest of the hardware needed to install a brake controller. For that I highly recommend the Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195.

This is considered by many to be the highest-quality brake controller on the market which is going to give you smooth braking and is easy to use with its bright LCD display. I have added links to video reviews as well as help articles on installing a brake controller for you which I also recommend checking out.
