Installing Primus Brake Controller on a 2016 Chevy Silverado 3500 with Factory Brake Controller
Question:
I have a 2016 Chevy Silverado 3500 with ITBC. I want to replace the ITBC with a Primus part #TK90160 as the ITBC does not give me consistent braking ability. Have tried to install unit with plug and play wiring harness but now have two units feeding same system and the primus does not work. what do I have to do to get the primus to work and the ITBC to be shut off.

In order to get your Tekonsha Primus IQ # TK90160 operational you will need to disable the factory integrated brake controller on your 2016 Chevroley Silverado 3500 by removing the blue wire from the back of that unit. Once you get this installed, the adapter # 3016 that you've installed in the fuse box in the cab will be active and your Primus will work properly.
