Does it Matter Which Side of the Crossmember the Boat Bunk Brackets Install On

Question:

I find it interesting that in your remove and install video... The brackets that mount to the trailer cross-member... are reinstalled on the OPPOSITE side of the cross-member mount that were removed and replaced! Without any discussion about force of boat against the bracket, etc... yikes... Before I installed my 8inch brackets w/swivel mount, I thought I would see what side the professionals suggest mounting the bracket, then check which side the swivel mounts to the bracket... e.g., the open U side mounts looking from the back of the trailer, in front of OR behind the cross-member... and, is there a difference in the way they face for rear or front given the majority of force of a boat being loadedfoot onto the trailer bunks Vs off the trailer bunks. Also, funny, but no one mentioned if it is smarter approach to angle-cut the 2x4 so its a 45 degree grade so boat rides onto bunks better? hmmmmm

It doesn't really matter which side of the crossmember of the trailer frame the bunk brackets install on. As long as they are torqued down properly either way will be perfectly safe. Since the brackets have swivels like # CE10003G-4 there would be no need to cut the boards at a different angle.
