In order to charge a trailer battery while driving you really only have one option which is to use the vehicle's alternator. In order to do this you need a device sophisticated enough to take the correct amount of charge without causing issues to the vehicle's battery while also ensuing your are not overcharging the trailer's battery. Furthermore, you will need to isolate the two batteries so there aren't any issues with shorts.
