Is Curt Class III 13138 Receiver Hitch Compatible- 2001 Ford Ranger w/Step Side Bed
Question:
Hi there, I own a 2001 Ford Ranger XLT single cab with the step side bed. I have read a few reviews stating this hitch does NOT line up with the rear bumper holes because of the step side bed vs normal bed? I have no clue if this is true so wanted to ask before I purchased this and the hitch extender from you. Thanks for your time.

According to my Curt representative, there aren't any fit exclusions for the # 13138 Class III hitch on the 2001 Ford Ranger. The hitch fits all Ranger models from the 2001 model year, including yours with a stepside bed. Additionally, I've looked through our customer reviews of this product, and haven't found any fit issues with stepside beds. The hitch will fit perfectly for you.
To complete your towing system, you'll also need a trailer wiring harness, a ball mount and a trailer ball. For a wiring harness, use # 118344, # C45030 for a ball mount and # 19260 for a 1-7/8 inch ball or # 63845 for a 2 inch ball.
I've linked you to an installation video for the hitch.
