The Pace Edwards Switchblade Retractable Hard Tonneau Cover # 311-SWFA06A29 that you referenced is very well made and would have no problem at all running through an automatic carwash. Basically this was build to withstand pretty extreme weather so a car wash wouldn't be a problem at all.

The Switchblade has to be either fully open or fully closed. The spring loaded spool will pull it all the way open and when closed it locks fully closed. We do have the UltraGroove # 311-KRFA06A29 which can lock in any open position.
