Recommended Weight Distribution With Sway Control for 5,200 lb Travel Trailer

Question:

Checking to make sure I will be able to swap out the pre-installed 2 5/16 ball to a 2inch ball that my trailer requires. I am a first time tower using my 2019 Grand Cherokee Trailhawk 4x4 with a V8 5.7 Hemi. My trailer length is about 26.5foot and the dry hitch is 610 lbs. and the GVWR is 5200. I hope this C17062 is the right one except for the hitch ball size. Thank you!

While the Curt MV Weight Distribution System with Friction Sway Control # C17062 can be used with 2" Hitch Ball # A-90, this system is designed for a trailer with a total tongue weight between 800 lbs and 1,000 lbs, which is too much for your 2019 Sonic SN234VBH travel trailer with a 5,200 lb GVWR.

That's because your tongue weight is between 10% and 15% of your trailer's GVWR and the right system will fall in the middle of the weight distribution system's tongue weight capacity.

So the weight distribution with sway control system I highly recommend for you is the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution with 2-Point Sway Control # FA94-00-1000.

The Fastway is the most budget-friendly option that will work best for your trailer and will do an even better job than the Curt of controlling sway and keeping your ride level. It comes with everything you need except the hitch ball, which for a 2" ball is the 2" Hitch Ball # EQ91-00-6080.

I have added a link to a video review of the Fastway system for you to check out as well.
