Can I Use Deka Jacketed 10 Gauge Wire to Run Hot Lead For Curt Echo From Hopkins 7-Way Plug
Question:
I have successfully hooked up my HM47180 wiring harness. Works perfectly for the 4 pin functions. My next project is to wire it for both the brakes I have a bluetooth controller and the Aux power. Can I just right the duplex wire I ordered directly from the battery to the appropriate wires on the harness, or do I have to go through a fuse first?

It sounds like you are half way there! I was able to find your account and I believe you are using the Curt Echo part # C51180 Blue tooth controller that plugs in line with the 7-way you will need to extend the 12V power from the Hopkins Endurance Multi-Tow 4-Way Flat to 7-Way RV Trailer Adapter w/ 4-Way Vehicle End Plug part # HM47180 with 20 feet of 12 gauge wire to the battery via a 30 amp circuit breaker like what comes in the kit part # BRK-ELECKIT.
Then you can ground the Hopkins plug and you will be good to go to power the Curt Echo brake controller part # C51180 if that is what you are referring to. The Curt Echo only requires 12V power and good ground on the 7-way plug to work. Since it sounds like you may have Deka Jacketed 2 Wire, 10 Gauge wire part # 10-2-1 already that would work to run the 12V circuit with the Pollak 40 amp circuit breaker part # PK54540.
