In order to install a brake controller on a 2016 Chevrolet Express Van such as the Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller part # TK90160 which is what I recommend, you first need to look for a bundle of 4-5 wires under the driver dash. If present, these are for the brake controller and will make installation much easier. The bundle of wires if present will be labeled but I don't have any specific schematics that tell me which color is which outside of the general (blue for brake, red for stop light, black for power, and white for ground.
If the bundle of wires are not found then you will need to run each circuit individually using the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller part # ETBC7. In certain cases, the brake output wire (possibly blue) is under the dash but the rest of the wires are not so be sure to look for that as well.
