Can the DeeZee Specialty Series Underbody Toolbox Be Mounted With the Lid Facing Up

Question:

Hi, I have an area near the front of my toy hauler behind the propane tanks and to the side of my batteries that I would like to mount a locking storage box for my Honda eu2200i generator. The space measures 24x18 so I am thinking about the DeeZee Specialty Series Underbody Toolbox - Brite-Tread Aluminum - 4.5 Cu Ft - Silver Item # DZ61 I would need to mount it sideways, so that the lid is facing upwards like a chest. Would I be able to mount it securely this way, since it was intended to be positioned with i different side being the bottom? And if so, can you confirm the generator would fit? Thanks

The DeeZee Specialty Series Underbody Toolbox part # DZ61 can absolutely be mounted so that the lid is facing up similar to a chest style tool box like you mentioned. In order to do this you could use the DeeZee Mounting Kit for Underbody and Side-Step Toolboxes part # DZDB-2502 and simply rotate the box or you could make your own mounting brackets if you wish but there won't be an issues using the box in the manner you described.

In regards to fit, the opening is 23" wide by 17" so you will need to make sure the generator or item you will be storing does not exceed this.
