Question:
What about wiring is there a plug-in set up or does it have to be grafted in.

The Curt Trailer Hitch # C12115 for your 2014 Cadillac XTS doesn't come with wiring, but you can use the Curt Wiring Kit # C59236 if you want a while Curt setup. The wiring is something that needs to be spliced in, but if you're wanting something that doesn't require splicing then I highly recommend the Tekonsha ZCI # 119250KIT instead.
The ZCI kit clamps around your OEM wiring and essentially "senses" when the different light functions need to be activated and it pulls the power directly from your vehicle battery. This is typically preferred on higher-end vehicles since you don't have to cut your factory wiring.
To complete your towing setup I recommend the Curt Ball Mount # C45017, Pin & Clip # F-4, and either 1-7/8" Hitch Ball # 19256 or 2" # 19258.
