Fifth Wheel Setup Is Too Tall With TrailAir Flex Air Pin Box and B&W Hitch

Question:

I have a new 2020 Silverado 3500 long bed. I installed a BandW hitch in the bed. I have a TrailAir pin on my Cedar Creek. The bad news is I am now at 13ft 71/2in tall. I need to the camper down 11/2 inches to be legal. I noticed that if I release air from the bladder the camper s. If I installed a MORride pin box would that the camper down

The B and W Fifth Wheel hitches for your 2020 Chevy Silverado 3500 with OEM prep package like part # BWRVK3710 for the 20K or part # BWRVK3715 for the 25K are height adjustable so if you can lower the hitch and still be level, I recommend to try that first. You also want 6" of clearance between the trailer loft and the top of the bed rails.

Around 11-1/2" is the recommended height in most states because of bridges but if you are conscious about how tall the trailer is, it is up to you if you would like to tow at that height. The Flex Air TrailAir pin boxes are also adjustable which is what I believe you have. I have attached a snip from the installation instructions of how to adjust the pin box height of your reference.

I do not recommend to change the PSI in the existing pin boxes bag to lower the trailer because you do not want to the PSI of the bag to be lower than 80 PSI to start. With the tow vehicle at rest, inflate the air bag with enough air to raise the pin box to the ride height mark on the front of the shock absorber.

Since I am not sure of the height of the Moryde box I cannot say if it will bring the trailer down, however the FlexAir TrailAir pin boxes typically measure 13-1/2" in height. If you have already done the things I have mentioned please let me know and I can troubleshoot further.
