2019 Ford F-250 FX4 Gooseneck Hitch, Air Bags and Compressor Recommendations

Question:

I have a 2019 Ford F-250 FX4. I am looking into adding a gooseneck hitch and some airbags. The hitch that seems to fit my purposes the best is the Draw-Tite 9468-94 and the airbags that I am looking at are the Air Lift 5000 AL88399. I would like to know if there are any compatibility problems or install issues with these two items. I am also considering the Air Lift compressor kit 25980EZ and would like to know the dimensions of the compressor to see if it could possibly be mounted under the hood. I am also open to any suggestions that you might have. Thank you.

The Draw-tite Hide-A-Goose Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # 9468-94 and Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Air Helper Springs # AL88399 will work together well and not have any interference issues on your 2019 Ford F-250 FX4.

The Hide-A-Goose # 9468-94 does have the highest weight capacity of the available goosenecks for your 2019 F-250, and the air bags are a great addition to keep the back end from sagging while your towing. I do recommend that you install the gooseneck first, that way there is more working room. Additionally the brackets for the gooseneck will be easier to install and torque down with the air bags not being installed yet.

I really like the Air Lift WirelessONE Compressor System # AL25980EZ, it's my favorite compressor that I've installed. I like the remote, and the option to use your phone to adjust the bags, but I think one of the best things about the compressor is how easy it is to install.

I ran out to the warehouse and took a few measurements for you (I also added a picture for reference.) The compressor and bracket are 10 1/2" wide, 6" tall, and 5 1/" deep. You can mount the compressor just about anywhere that it can fit, as long as you have enough wire to reach the battery and air line to reach the bags. I typically mount it towards the front of the bed, high up on the frame.

If you need in-bed wiring I recommend the Curt 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Wiring Harness # C57008. It comes with 2 sets of mounting screws; you just want to make sure you use the aluminum ones for your F-250 since it has an aluminum bed. The easiest way to tell is to grab a magnetic bit holder, the steel screws will stick to it while the aluminum won't.

I linked the parts mentioned, as well as a few videos for you to check out.
