How to Make Fulton A60 Swinging Coupler Compatible with Disc Brakes

Question:

Jon, My coupler is different. The one you referenced to is angled and the swing and mine is straight. I also took the master cylinder and ran the patent number. It is made by Demco and is pt #5650. Do i need part number DM5919 to convert it to disc? Also do i need Disc brake #T10HREKITBB x 4? My axles are 3500lbs

Thank you for all of the info!

I did some digging and found out that your older Fulton A60 swing away actuator was actually a UFP A60 actuator on a Fulton coupler hinge like part # FHDPW330300. I was able to speak with my contact at Dexter who said you can make your drum brake actuator compatible with disc brakes by changing out the master cylinder with kit # DX44FR.

If you don't already have disc brakes I am linking our selection for you to filter through. If you'd like a recommendation just let me know what the weight capacity is for your axle(s) and I can help you out!

So when I called Fulton they directed me to Demco, who then directed me to Dexter because Dexter was making the couplers for them. So the DX44FR kit that I mentioned is what you need to upgrade. The part # 5650 that you referenced is for drum brakes and wouldn't be able to supply enough power for disc brakes. The Titan Disc Brake Assembly # T10HREKITBB would be an excellent choice to replace your drum brakes. I really like the Dacromet finish because it is a bit more durable than the standard powder coat finish. This comes as 1 assembly so you'll need to get 4 of them for your tandem axle trailer. I have attached an installation video of the disc brake kit for you to check out.
