Is the Curt Echo Compatible With 2019 Ford Ranger
Question:
There seems to be conflicting information about the Echos compatibility with the 2019 Ford Ranger having the standard towing package with 7-pin connector. Is it or is it not compatible? If I order the Echo and it turns out to be not compatible, may I return it for refund? Also, Is the Echo compatible with the Titan BrakeRite EHB Electric-Hydraulic Actuator for Disc Brakes Item # T4813100? Thanks!

The Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller # C51180 will work with your 2019 Ford Ranger and is compatible with the Titan BrakeRite I Plug and Play Electric-Hydraulic Actuator Kit # T4813102 also. The Echo is compatible with electric or electric over hydraulic brakes and only requires power at the 7 way to operate.
Your Ranger has a Smart Tow feature that only turns the 12V power signal at the 7 way on when a trailer is hooked up, your truck is turned on, the transmission in gear, the brake pedal depressed and the setting through the in dash menu is activated. We have seen that even with all of steps followed that some new trucks will not activate the 12V at the 7 way, however even if the smart tow feature will not activate there's a way to get power to the Echo and make it operational.
You can bypass the smart tow feature by running a wire from the 12V pin and adding a breaker in line with the battery. I recommend using 10 Gauge Primary Wire # 10-1-1 and 40 Amp In-Line Circuit Breaker # 9510 and Ring Terminal # 44-5310A. For your Ranger I recommend about 20 to 25 feet of wire so you can make sure that you have enough and it gives you more room for routing options.
I linked the products mentioned above, and a video for you to check out.
