The reason is the unique way the hitch and coupler attach, which allows the rotation and smooth ride you'll get with this hitch and coupler combo. I will list the compatible trailer couplers of the Lock N Roll Articulating # 336VS511, and keep in mind to secure it to your receiver you will need Receiver Lock # e98880.

Yes you are - all 5th wheel hitches are going to require some type of rails in order to be used. So you'd need #DM8552016-71 for your 2006 Dodge Ram.
