How to Fit a Curt A20 to Puck System on a 2020 GMC Sierra 2500 Short Bed
Question:
I currently have an A20 Curt 5th wheel hitch on standard bed rails on my 2016 3500 Silverado long bed. I just ordered a 2020 GMC Sierra Standard Bed short bed with the OEM puck system. What do I need to convert this hitch unit to use with the puck system? Can I simply order from you a new set of legs to match the puck system

You can either use the adapter kit # DM6333 from Demco or you can swap out the legs to the kit # C16024 for a stationary hitch.
We do recommend using a sliding hitch though for short bed applications to reduce the risk of hitting your cab when making a tight turn. If your RV has a tapered nose this is less likely to happen but we go the route of being safe rather than sorry. Because of this, you might consider going with the Demco adapter and then using the R20 Round Tube Slider Base # C16550 with your A20 head so that you have a sliding hitch.
Eventually Curt should have their own adapter system for the 2020 GMC Sierra 2500 short bed, but for now (February 2020) the Demco adapter is the only thing you'd be able to use for a sliding hitch.
