It sounds like you're in the process of installing the Demco SBS Stay-IN-Play Duo # SM99251 on your 2015 Chevy Captiva Sport, and there might be some confusion as to what connects to the Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit # RM-751476 during the process. There will be 2 wires coming from the Roadmaster Stop Light Switch-both of them are black.

When connecting the wires, you will connect one of the wires to the red wire from the LED indicator light from the Stay-IN-Play system and one will connect to the vehicle's battery. You'll want to make sure that you use the included in-line fuse when connecting to the positive terminal of the battery. If your Stay-IN-Play system's LED indicator light has a blue wire instead of a red wire, you'll connect it the way you've mentioned, but if the wire is not receiving power when the brakes are depressed it is not going to be the correct wire.

I've linked an installation video to this answer that details the process of installing the Stay-IN-Play DUO on a Chevy Captiva Sport for you to have a look at, as well. If you go to around 12:00 minutes into the video, it goes through the process of installing the Stop Light Switch kit in detail.
