I am buying a 2020 f250 short bed. I have a B&W companion now. Can you buy just the lower slider unit and use my upper that I have ?

Yes, you can absolutely just replace the base of your B&W Companion so you do not have to get an entirely brand-new hitch. What you will need are one of the following two parts, depending on if your 2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty has the 5th wheel prep package (the puck system) or you are fitting it in the Custom Underbed Installation Kit for B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # BWGNRK1116-5W.
- With Ford OEM Prep Package (Puck System): Replacement Slider Base for B&W OEM 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - Ford Towing Prep Package # BWRVB3370
- With Installation Kit # BWGNRK1116-5W: Replacement Slider Base for B&W Companion Slider 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # BWRVB3405
