Can the balls be changed? I would like to use a 1 7/8 for one trailer I have.

The balls on the Self-Locking, Adjustable, Aluminum Ball Mount, # DTALBM6425, cannot be changed to accommodate a 1-7/8 inch ball, however, you can pickup part # DTALBM6407 which is the same product except it comes with a 2 inch ball and a 1-7/8 ball that you are looking for.
This ball mount has the same rise and drop dimensions and fits 2 inch hitches, but keep in mind that the towing capacity of this ball mount, when using the 1-7/8 inch ball, is limited to 2,000 lbs.
