Short Trailer Jack Recommendation for a 7000 lb A-frame Horse Trailer for Tailgate Clearance

Question:

Im looking for a shorter trailer jack for a small horse trailer. My current one fits an A-frame and measures 15.5inch from the bracket to the top. I dont know exactly the weight rating, but the GVWR of the trailer is 7000 lbs. Ill be pulling the trailer with the tailgate down to fit a truck camper on, and the top of the trailer jack is the only spot that could hit when backing up in a tight spot.

I went out to my warehouse a pulled a few different jacks that I think will work for you. The Bulldog Round, A-Frame Jack, # BD1550101344, measures 14-1/2 inches from the bracket to the top of the jack, but you will lose an inch of lift with a 13 inch lift. You do, however, gain an increase in weight capacity at 3,000 lbs with this jack.

Our best option may be the Pro Series Round, A-Frame Jack, # PSRV20000103. This jack measures only 13 inches from the mounting bracket to the top of the jack and has a 14 inch lift with a 2,000 lb weight capacity.

I have attached links to each of these products for you to check out.
