2007 was a split model year for the Chevy Silverado/GMC Sierra, which means they produced two distinct models. The 2007 Silverado/Sierra 'Classic' was identical to the 2006 model. The 2007 'New Body' as it was referred to was an all new model. The good news is, it's easy to tell the two apart. The 2007 Classic had rounded wheel wells, and the new body had squared off wheel wells. The tailgate is also a dead giveaway. The Classic will have 'Chevrolet' printed in large letters all the way across the tailgate, while the New Body will have the bow tie emblem in the middle.
Brake controllers aren't vehicle specific. You an install just about any controller on just about any vehicle, so the Tekonsha P3 you'd looked at will work great for you. The install procedure is a little different between the two vehicles. The Classic would require a # 3015-P wiring harness to plug the controller into the junction box behind the emergency brake pedal while the New Body model wouldn't need a harness, it would wire directly into the bundle of tow package wires under the dash. I'll link you to some install videos and help articles that will explain the installation on both models.
