Installing Lippert Spare Tire Winch with Cable

Question:

Lippert Components Spare Tire Winch with Offset Cable Item # LC159056 Hi, I had a flat in my forest River 26 foot class C built on a ford E450 cutaway. The spare is carried under the chassis toward the rear. It was disturbing to learn that there was no winch for the spare tire. The guy from roadside assistance was able to drop the spare and change the tire but could not get the flat tire stowed without help is it easy to install these winches, do you have a video or written instructions explaining the procedure on a 2016 E450? Thanks

There aren't any instructions for just the Lippert Components Spare Tire Winch with Offset Cable # LC159056 at all, but you will need to find a way to bolt it onto the underside of your RV frame; the mounting holes are 5-1/4" apart on center and I have added a photo from a customer which shows how they did it on their trailer.

There are instructions for the RV Spare Tire Carrier with Winch - 71" Overall Width # LC159041, which I have linked for you that will require you bolt to your chassis.

If either of these options will not work for you, the simplest other option is the Roadmaster Hitch Mounted Spare Tire Carrier w/ 2" Receiver Opening - 2" Hitches # RM-195225 which fits directly into a 2" hitch on your motorhome. This is a pricier carrier but also the easiest to use.

I have added links to video reviews of these parts for you to check out as well.
