Will the Titan Pintle Hook Mounting Plate # RP45294 Fit a 2008 Ford F-350 with 2-1/2 Inch Receiver
Question:
We have a 2008 F350 with factory installed Class V 2.5inch receiver. I need to find a setup that will include a pintle and 2 5/16inch ball. We currently use a tri-ball and most of our trailers sit level when loaded. So Id like the Ball to be as close to 0inch rise/ as possible. In the item description it says this will not fit super dutys, but another expert reply recomended this mount for a super duty. Can you verify? Also can you recommend a locking pin that will fit the 2.5inch super duty receiver as well? Thanks

Expert Reply:
The factory 2-1/2 inch receiver on the Ford Super Duty trucks has more rounded corners whereas the Titan pintle hook mounting plate, # RP45294 has corners that are more squared. As a result, they tend not to fit together unless you remove some of the powder coating on the shank of the mounting plate. Do not remove any of the metal, though, just powder coat.
A better fit would be # 45156 which has more rounded corners. You could then add pintle hook combo, # C48200.
For a lock, I recommend # e98881. This lock has an inside span of 3-5/8 inches so it will work well for your 2-1/2 inch receiver. I have included a link to a video review of the lock for you.
