What Size Holes Need to be Drilled to Install Curt Front Hitch # 31084 and Draw-Tite # 65009

Question:

I am considering the Curt and Draw-tite front mount hitch for my 91 cherokee xj. What diameter is the hole that has to be drilled? When the drill breaks through is there anything it could mess up if it pulls through hard?

For the Curt front mount trailer hitch, you will need to drill two 17/32 inch holes in the bottom of the frame rails. There should not be anything inside the frame rail so you should not worry about punching through with the drill. Take a look at the instructions link I have provided for you.

The Draw-Tite hitch # 65009 requires a 1/2 inch hole. I have included a link to the instructions for it as well.
